I am 39 soon to be 40...on birth control...but having alot of problems that I am not sure of...I am always tired, have a lot of spotting the whole month mostly when I go #2, some lower pelvice pain, bloated feeling somtimes, get moody a lot, weight gain more in my mid section, getting a little memory problems.....just feel like crap anymore! I was told I had endometriosis, I do take synthroid which was checked 3 months ago and adjusted up higher....Could this be the beginning of perimenopause?? Or does it sound like I need to see the doctor again?? My last visit was in August and all was fine...I was on lexapro a short time last summer for anxiety (so he says). I just haven't felt that well the last year! Any help??? Ideas?? Or am I just getting old! Thanks!

Girlfriend, you are not getting old! I wish I was 40, I'm 46 and wish I were going through menopause, but not, and I'm sure you are not, I think it's a reaction to the Lexapro, I was on it, it effected me the same way, I also gained weight (which I didn't need) so I got off and am now on Prozac, lots cheaper and better, good luck!

I have been on Lexapro about 6 months and it doesn't seem to affect my periods. I don't think it is perimenopause, the symptoms don't seem to fit. I would check with the doc again.

I would suggest seeing an OBGYN. Sounds like there may be more to it than meets the eye...39 - 40 is an awefully young age for menopause....I don't think I'd take the chance of opinions of strangers....Good Luck!
