Trash cans, cleaning supplies, extra blankets, vacuum cleaner, broom, are some larger things that could easily slip your mind.
A miscellaneous junk box is priceless. Include things like Scotch tape, thumb tacks, picture hooks, nails, screws, Elmer's glue, super glue, safety pins, paper clips, a flashlight, emergency candles, screwdrivers, pliers, scissors, a tape measure . . . and any other little odd items you might need. My grandma made me one when I moved out and you wouldn't believe how much I use it!

this is what you do, think about each room like this:
kitchen and write down a list of what you do have and what you need like dishes, cups, blender, toaster, microwave, can opener, utensils, paper towels, etc...
living room-sofa, lights, tv, books, pictures, blanket, etc
bedroom- tv, bed, linens, pillows, lights, nightstand, pictures, computer, etc.
bathroom- towels, makeup, soaps, toilet paper, hair spray, gel, toothpaste, etc.
Don't forget misc. stuff like trash cans, phones, cleaning supplies, vaccuum, and broom.
Look around your place first and see what you think might be missing and go to a $1 and look around I guarantee whatever you think you are missing is there.
I think that you basically get the idea, can you tell that I just moved out and back in to a place. Enjoy your first place. I just moved into my first house with my fiance.
