if I have it I give it, loaning can complicate things, but with my good friends I get it back

Never. I would give the money if I had it, but loan it with the expectation of a payback is asking for trouble in the friendship. Friends and loans mix as well as oil and water.

I don't loan money to anyone any more! One time I didn't get paid back & that was that!

A friend of mine was short on cash so I let him borrow 50 bucks to go toward his truck payment telling him he'd have to pay me back. A few weeks later I asked where my money was and he proceeded to tell me he'd give me 25 and the rest he would keep as his birthday gift. That was the last time I let anyone borrow more than 5 dollars. I haven't talked to him since.

It happened once, I convinced myself that she forgot all about it ( cause the loan wasn't a lot ) and we just remained friends.

nope...when it takes too long to get paid back it can lead to awkward situations...i waited 3 months to get paid for some Wiggles tickets i purchased so we could have all the kids sitting together and the only was i did get paid was i held the tickets till she paid me and was not giving them to her till i was paid

I wouldn't get rid of them, just wouldn't loan them money anymore.

It is always a gift to a friend...if I have the means.....you watch you friends back....and you do not lose them over money ......they will repay if they have it and are true...........
