we have 2 ipod nano's in our house but we use the same i-tunes account and everytime we load songs on the both i-pods update with the same songs, which we don't want. It's a bit of a pain deleting the songs one by one when the relevant i-pod has been updated. Have tried to open another i-tunes library but can't, I can't put up with my mother in law's Country and Western music. Please don't tell me to tell my parents in law to buy a pc, they can only just about work a video!!

Easy as can be; instructions are here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300432
(hint: use method 2, so much easier)

We solved this by making playlists, and then programming only selected playlists to individual ipods. for example, make a Country playlist and keep all the country music on there, and a Rock playlist for rock music, etc... Only update the playlists you want on your ipod.

You do this by making selections in i-tunes under each device. i-tunes will recognize which device is plugged in, and will only update the selected playlists.
