They were going to a four year school to get a four year degree but realized that there was no way they could afford it? So instead they had to a tech school to get a two year degree instead? Thats whats happening to me right now.

i have changed my major 2 times... and it can be very frustrating, but it's very (what's a good word???)... noble (?) of you to continue your education elsewhere since you cant afford it at a university. education is a must, no matter where you receive your degree. have you looked into student loans or financial aid? (im thinking maybe you have since you are switching schools.) the only thing i found frustrating when switching my major was the credits i earned that are no longer valid towards the degree i wish to obtain. i look at it this way.. no knowledge is wasted knowledge.. and who knows.. one day when you can afford it, you can pick up where you left off at the 4 year school... those credits arent going to disappear.
good luck!.. and dont forget to find pride in yourself because you are on the right path!!!

If thats what works best for you and will make you happy then that is still great. I mean you are stillmaking an effort to get an education and to aquire skills to get a better career even at a tech school. Depending on what field you want to pursue, it may even make more sense to go to tech school. In any case, definately don't feel bad, and remember, by finishing at tech school sooner and saving money, you'll be able to get a decent job sooner, without being in a ton of debt, and then when you are working you may have the extra money to save so that if you decide to go back and finish your four year degree you can do that when the circumstances are better for you. Or, maybe you'll love what you do and be happy you didn't waste two more years studying. Either way, good luck, and don't worry, you'll be fine.

A degree is not everyhting in life, escepically if you are not happy. (I do have a degree so I'm not just spouting off because I don't have one and want to feel better about myself.) I've seen plenty of people with degrees doing jobs they hate. You should do somehting you enjoy and that makes you happy in life. If a career with a 2 yr degree will get you what you want, go gor it.
