Flexibility is genetic. Some people are and some are not body flexible. Some flexibility can be increased through stretching exercises but the exercises must be done everyday. Care must be taken not to experience pain as this can lead to injuries.

Sit on the floor. Splay the legs. Lay your body on one leg, then the other. Be sure your back is straight and you bend from the hips. Spread your legs out as far as possible. Try to go as far as to rest your body and head on your leg. After stretching bend/flex the knees a while.

Stand with one leg resting on a table or chair back. Keep the knees straight. Lay your body on the raised leg, then bend back . Do not force any moves. Follow up with knee flexing.

Hold something solid with one hand. Grab the opposing foot at the inside of the arch with the other hand (bend and then straighten the opposite leg to do this) and pull the foot up while straightening that leg. The hand is holding the foot the whole time. Let that hand move the leg out to the side. This is the "can-can" dancer stretch. Flex both knees after this.

That should help. Good luck and have fun. Remember: No gain if there's pain.

stretch. often, every day, whenever you get the chance. I am in a dance class at my school and for about a week or so all we really did was stretch every body part possible (mainly legs) and I was WAY more flexible after that one week. I went from about 6 inches to touching my toes to solidly touching the floor. Yay!!!

you could also take up a dance class. :)
