wearing make-up and stuff. He is definitely not gay. I don't understand it. Maybe some of you who enjoy doing this could explain?

For those that don't really know me, one would never suspect that I crossdress. I am as masculine as they come on the outside, but the funny thing is that if you could see under my clothes you would see painted toenails, on many occasions frilly undies, and pantyhose. I am not gay, in fact I am happily married, your guy may be just the same as me, there is nothing wrong with it, in fact if you are openminded enough, it can really enhance your relationship. My wife and I have lots of fun with my girly side, but I also respect that she did not marry a girl but a man, and am one for her. This will always be a part of him, even if he says that he no longer does it, chances are that he will want to do it again. I have lots of respect for him because he came clean early in your relationship, instead of sneaking it after 20 years of marriage. There is lots you can read on the subject, lots of places on the net forums and chatrooms. Read up on it, you will learn a lot, and most important have fun with it.

well, if he does it out of entertainment...thats one thing, but if he's cross dressing out of sexual pleasure...there's at term called transvestic fetishism, in which men (rarely women) get sexual pleasure or arousal from wearing opposite gender specific clothing or items like underwear, make up, shoes, purses, etc.
There is an assumption that this practice is mostly done by heterosexual males, but this has been debateable.
But most who do this are trying to fulfill a sexual fantasy of some sort, and doesn't necessarily pertain to transexualism. If the man is heterosexual and practicing this, it doesn't necessarily mean he wants to be a homosexual either.

It isn't that surprising really, he probably did it when he was younger and was experimenting with different identities. Do you like to experiment with makeup and what not? Probably, becuase it can be fun to see how different you can make yourself look, even if your not trying to be as attractive as possible. People have all sorts of hobbies, when you break down life none of it makes sense so you might as well do what makes you happy right?

I'm just a straight girl, but everything I have read on the subject (sociology, etc) says that most tranvestite men are straight, not gay.
