Ricky Nelson's image was first portrayed in the Ozzie & Harriet show. his real mother & father , and brother. it was a different world back then in the 50's family life & structure was quite different than it is today. The mother was still primarily full time housewife & mom. Dad was the bread winner. and in general the tone of society was quieter and less agnostic as you see today. Ricky had the good wholesome looks of an Ivy leaguer...combined with his soft nature & muscial talent he was one of the earliest "solo" crooners . Every indication from biographical writings indicates that Ricky , like his parents was the real thing...do yourself a favor try to get your hands on some episodes of the Ozzie & Harriet show--- I sense from your question you'll enjoy them .

Ricky came from a show biz family. His Dad was an orchestra leader and his mom sang. They had a hit TV Show and Ricky formed his own band and started singing. He was good.
Yea, he was a good guy. He was a teenage idol back then. He was killed in a plane crash on NewYears eve quite a while ago. His brother, David is still living as is his daughter Tracy and his twin sons.

He was a good guy alright. He was my teenage idol. He had beautiful blue eyes. Love his singing and watched the Ozzie and Harriet show on tv. On TV later 50s and early 60s. I wish it was still on, but the Nelson family didn't want that.

I know that his family was famous a bit like a 50's version of the osbournes. It was his mother Harriet and his father (i forget the name) who had their own tv show which featured Ricky and his wife and i think their 4 children too. He was a singing icon really especially to young girls. It would be his face on their posters in their bedrooms. He was a very talented artist in my opinion and i guess he was a good guy yeah.

Because he was cute, and could be somewhat musical, he kind of reminded folks of Elvis, but he did not have the charisma to pull it off. He had famous parents and they had a tv show in the 60's. He was a teen icon then. He was a good guy, not a rebel.

He was famous from the TV show and he sang simple little sappy songs that were pretty good in his time.I can't say if he was a good man or not.It was rumored that the plane crash in which he died was caused by a fire from smoking cocaine !!
