I have been hearing a lot of comments about the media supposedly taking the conservatives side, and I have to say I strongly disagree. When's the last time you watched late night television and they DIDN'T make fun of the president? Notice all the coverage on the "innocent" people who died and none of the focus on the good we have done? We go to a place to pluck out the terrorists and all the media tells you is how a four year old boy was killed. We hear everyday about the latest car bomb that exploded, but when's the last time we were shown a school American soldiers helped to build or an Iraqi family thanking the soldiers for the work they've done...

While CNN has several wonderful reporters, the honchos there never tire of snidely predicting that when American troops go up against "well-trained" troops they will lose. They did it in both Iraq wars and said it again today in the 10-hour firefight. They have never been right.
When Christiane Amanpour reported this evening that all of the allied nations agree with President Bush on strengthening and staying the course to prevent catastrophe in the region, Wolf Blitzer looked like he was going to have a heart attack. He quickly asked her to give the other side--what the terrorists are saying about it.
Every day I hear liberals say that Fox News is a scary conservative station. I wish that were the case to give counterpoint to the big three networks. Instead, they too air liberal views in abundance, but without the usual excess.
Today we have a raft of very intelligent, talented talk radio conservatives and moderates on WABC, and thank God for that. That little corner of sanity burns the libs no end.

It is not a mystery...the media is largely biased...towards liberals! How can people dispute that when they know that even most celebrities are liberal? The media leaves out the things that would make the president look GOOD, I only have to talk to a soldier who has been to Iraq to know they HE believes in what we are doing. They just report the bad news...the things that will make Bush look the worst...but luckily, some of us can read through the lines...but unfortunately, many people believe the BS.
Of course their is going to be casualties...it's a war. What about the Iraqi people? Sure, WE might be better off if we'd have never gone over there (though I doubt it because then they would have been left to build up power and come attack us), but Iraqis are definitely better off since our intervention. And of course it is going to take time to rebuild the nation...we can't just leave it again, or a new dictator will take advantage and rise to power. We must help them learn to govern themselves and fight tyranny. That is what America stands for! Don't people know what Saddam was? A dictator! He abused and oppressed the people. The things he did were horrible. We have used our power to help those in need. Is that such a terrible thing? Are Americans really so selfish that they think we should only care about ourselves?

If you are a snail, a turtle seems fast. If you are a left-wing whacko, the media would appear conservative. The facts from independent studies show that there is a liberal bias in the media. late night comedians obligingly make fun of both sides, but they clearly favor the libs point of views. Just ask them, most have admitted as much. Truth is, they enjoy it more when someone like Bush is in power b/c their hearts' are into making him look like a fool. the Clinton years were difficult for them.

This is the argument that some Liberals make in response to the accusation that the media has a Liberal bias. They seem to believe that because the press/TV are businesses that they must be run by conservatives. Obviously, you haven't bought into this popular fiction, and neither has most thinking Americans. You see the Liberal bias, which means that you truly have a mind of your own and know how to use it. My compliments!

Answer: Rupert Murdoch. Late night television has always made fun of the President, democrat or republican. They also make fun of Popes and Jews.
All the carnage, death and destruction in Iraq long ago overshadowed any possible good we are doing in that country. That school American soldiers helped to build might next be seen in the media as the one that was blown up with 100 students inside.

I saw it mentioned a few weeks ago how our troops helped rebuild a school they helped to knock down. The story was sandwiched in with 45 minutes of commercials. I almost missed it.

Wherever you have heard that the media is conservative, you had best stop listening to them. They are LYING to you. The closest, most balanced media show you can watch, is Fox News. Otherwise, you just hear liberal biased news.

I'm glad you are now old enough to stay up and watch television. If you had been able to watch late night comedians 8 years ago you would have heard lots of jokes about the Democrat.
