You are such a good mother to ask this question!! Of course, if the food is completely cooked, the alcohol is no longer present in the food & only the taste remains. Balsamic vinegar and other kinds of vinegar (which are really just a step past wine in the fermenting process) are also a good substitution for wine, if the though of cooking things in wine concerns you. They have the same acidity as wine to penetrates meat and vegetables, and flavors pasta, sauces, etc. Just use less vinegar than you would wine.

Yes. The alcohol gets "cooked" out. I'm pregnant w/#2 and cook w/wine all the time. My doctor told me a glass of wine w/dinner in the evening is no big deal in the 3rd trimester--of course, it's not worth the heartburn to even bother!! (Plus, what good is one glass? LOL)

yes, when you cook the wine, it gets most of the alcohol out of it and you just use the flavor. Also, you are allowed to drink one glass of wine a day when you are pregnant so i dont see why there would be any problem with this.

Yes, just as long as it is cooked. Most deserts made with wine are not cooked after the wine is added, so try and stay away from these.

Yes, The alcohol evaporates during the cooking process. Even though I chose not to, some Dr.s think its ok to drink small amounts of wine while pregnant.

yes you can. in fact, doctors advise some women to drink a little glass of wine once a week when you are pregnant. its usually red wine that is suggeste, and you should NOT do it very often, like i said, a little glass once a week should be good. unless your doctor tells you otherwise, eating food cooked in wine is alright.
