In some ways, I'm normal. I have a 40-hour-job, I eat most things acceptable in our culture, I have a husband and 2.5 kids (my three-year-old has enough energy to cover the other the additional .5 child) and a three-bedroom house. I'm well-adjusted, have a few minor health problems but nothing major, I eat too much chocolate and drink too much coffee, but I fit in the "one size fits all" clothes......
However, I'm from a fairly rural Southern town and can't stand sweet tea or black-eyed peas, I know the words to the entire Wicked soundtrack, my favorite photos of my kids are when they aren't smiling, and my kids don't think Santa only comes to good kids.
*shrug*
No one's "normal". In my family, I'm the odd one out, that's how I was raised to believe I was. Then I met some other people and I'm way normal (or abnormal, I guess) compared to most.....

well , if U behave like other people and do things that is usual for other people yer a normal person! but if U look back at people who lived 200 years ago in yer town or country you will notice that a normal person was actually "wasting" her,his life with doing things that other people used to do ! this is our biggest problems these days , we are controlled by some rules that other people ( religion policy etc.) set for us and we think we are doing the best! if someone crossed the line ( doesn't matter if its negative or positive in our opinion , because all it it , its our opinion which can be wrong ) they used their mind more than us!!!! this is for people who don't live a usual life and involve themselves with better things , not talking about abnormal people who have brain issues ,

NO, I'm not normal and have been told all my life so I guess I've never been normal. But as I look around and see what people call normal I'm proud to be weird. Why would I want to be like everyone else? I don't even want to be normal lol.

I'm not going to give you the cliche "nobody is normal" answer. Because I think even though we all have our oddities and quirks. Some of us are different or unique. And some people are either suffering from a mental illness or just plain weird. As for your main question, I think given my diagnosis, I am normal for a person with mental disabilities.

It is part of the American dream to be normal. The problem is, I don't think anybody is really normal. It is a state of mind that so many try to achieve. It id not possible no matter what people tell you.

Not bring overly rude and rediculous on yahoo answers is normal. I do believe I"m normal, but I can't believe some people that answer here! They are so mean! I don't believe I"ll ever ask a question again, people ATTACK you when you're looking for FEEDBACK.
GOod question, by the way :)

Ab.so.lute.ly Not! I'm the only one of four kids that has not gone to prison, been addicted to drugs or become an alcoholic. But, I am still far from normal and proud of it!

Who's to say what "normal" is, since there are as many variations in thinking and behavior as there are people on earth.

No, I am sure I am not normal. But then, looking at other people who wants to be like them? I am proud to be 'not normal'.
