Those two are two of my favourite films ever .... try nightwatch, russian vampire film ... dont judge it on that description. Its immense.

Otherwise same as everyone else recommends 21 grams and Babel. But more importantly you have to see tsotsi, very similar to city of god. Best film ive seen for a while.

Also there is City Of Men, a tv mini series done by the same people who did CoG. It has a load of the actors from CoG in it. If you really liked the film you ll prob like this. There are two series available to buy. I prefer the first but the second is still cool.

you want world films? try:
old boy, dark film! can't explain it you got to watch it!

lady vengeance, same director as oldboy, again quite dark. a woman is forced to admit to a murder she didn't commit. gets free and seeks justice. there is another by the same directer but cant think of it.

carrandiru, the biggest prison massacre the recent world has seen. quite amusing in places, you get a real connection with some of the inmates.

brotherhood, Korean war film, long but worth it.

ong bak, Thai boxin supreme! he's ******* talented!!

brotherhood of the wolf, an animal is terrorising a region of France. one man and his Indian matio are sent to investigate.

irreversible, whoa! one of the darkest scenes i think i've seen on film! so bad!

13, a deer hunter type game being played between 13 men. only 1 leaves. tense film.

tsotsi, the triumph of human nature.

can't think of any others at the moment. above are some great films though, should keep ya busy for a while!
