I have a koi 3 inches now and it is really nice. It is white with black and white in my 55 gallon aqurim, but latley i have noticed brown big blots on its gills and mouth. Should i worry i know koi come in a lot of colors but i have never seen one turn brown. espesily when it looks so nice!

It may be natural coloration. Koi come in all sorts of colours which can develop and change as they mature. Do the brown spots look odd, or do the scales just look coloured? If you are seeing redness, missing scales, etc, it may be a bacterial infection. Treat accordingly with maracyn or maracyn-2.
Otherwise, just keep an eye on him.

I hope you know, though, that a koi is far too big a fish for a 55 gallon tank. For the time being it's fine, because he's small, but he will soon need to live in a pond. Eventually he'll be too big to even turn around in a 55 gallon tank, and may be almost as long as the tank itself.

my parrot fish's gills got that stuff on it too! but we took it to the pets store and they said, "its natural coloring" but we didnt believe them. I think you need to get a treatment for it.
