Just look at the words used in stories on Iraq. Words like "disastrous" do not belong in a story about something that is not over and done with.
You see lots of examples of average everyday "Iraqis on the street" talking about bad things troops did, but they never ask troops about what happened. If they do, they make sure they find someone who didn't want to be there.
Edit: ...and contrary to what the guy above is saying, studies do not prove that bias is overwhelmingly conservative.

I think that's a losing battle. Serious studies done on media bias show an overwhelming conservative/ neo-capitalist/ corporate bias in the mainstream media. You can try to bring up NPR or even Air America Radio, but neither is nearly as mainstream as, say, Fox News or Rush Limbaugh. Some people make arguments about the New York Times, but a good debater will expect that and come armed with statistics that show that the Times is biased to the left only in editorials, and that news stories show, if anything, a slight pro-corporate slant.
Good luck debating, though. It's a good skill to practice.

You're going to have a tough time with that insofar as the media was biased towards the right until the midterm election. Now that the Democrats have control of Congress, their bias is slanting to the left.(Excepting for Fox, which we all know to be fair and balanced)

Dan Rather, CNN, NY Times, Atlanta Journal, David Letterman and all the Hollywood elites. Then you have NPR, ABC, NBC and CBS--all liberal leaning media outlets. Thank God for Fox News, the only fair and balanced media--except maybe the Wall Street Journal.

The way The Liberal News does not report Military blunders and collateral damage.
Many times News worthy events are reported on BBC or DWTV and not so much as a word of truth gets past the Liberal American News. e.g. the Somali Gun Ship was shown live on TV in other Countries showing the multi story down town building collapsing on civilian population. But the Liberals only suggested it happened in a remote area. Choosing to run beer commercials instead of truth.

Media delivers negative news 62 percent of the time despite economic expansion. The U.S. economy is doing well but the top media keep covering bad news or mis-reporting good economic news..

The media is neither liberal nor conservative----just biased towards its agenda to control the minds of Americans. The media is not run by the Jews or the government---it is run by the secret societies like Skulls and Bones.

There are myriad examples at:
http://www.mrc.org
The best one right now is to compare the fawning adoration of Nancy Pelosi, and the favorable treatment of the Democrat winning of both houses, in constrast to the treatment of Newt Gingrich and the new majority GOP in 1994. It was the end of the world, then, and it was because the "white angry males" threw a "temper tantrum", and how Gingrich was going to turn the US into a fascist state.
