This is something I'm just starting to look at recently. There IS a way, I'm pretty sure. I think it has to do with setting it to "manually manage your iPod" or something like that.

When you plug in your iPod, look at it on iTunes, on that screen where it shows the little coloured bar that shows the amount and type of files on your computer. Above that there are little check boxes, and you'd have to check the one that says "manually manage your iPod".

This would prevent the iPod from automatically taking everything from whatever iTunes it is plugged in to. You'd have to go through and manually check the songs that you want to be transferred, and it won't get rid of anything that's currently on there. I think.

I've never tried it myself, but it's something that I'm going to try to look into. It definitely has something to do with that though because on the functionality guide on Apple's website that's exactly what it says that option does.

Best of luck!

well I cant do it on my computer, my friend can on her's, its got something to do with the computer make I guess. If you can do it you have to get the songs off their iPod by: 1. making sure iTunes is closed and doesn't automatically pop up when you connect it. go to my computer and click on the one that says portiable device or ipod or e drive, something along those lines. then go into it and copy the music. 2 add the songs to your iTunes, connect the person's iPod and then click yes when it asks you if you wanna move the playlist or whatever they call it. and then thier songs and your songs should be on there.
