I wear the same neutral/nude colors all the time. I never wear anything frilly or trendy. I think it dates you or makes you look like "trailer trash". And, I'm always told I look about 28 or 29 and I'm 39. I take that as a compliment.

I sometimes do in a very discreet way. I don't go all out b/c it looks bad. But for example, if I am wearing a pink shirt, I may put on pink eyeshaow. When I go out at night, I wear darker, more dramatic colors. I normally wear browns during the day because they go best w/ my eyes, hair, and skin tone. That is how you should decide what colors to wear, what looks best on YOU. And have fun w/ makeup! Try the fun, trendy colors every once and awhile! Play around-if you don't like it you can always wash it off!

i don't but i do take into account what i'm wearing and where i'm going.

ex : if i'm going to work (i am a secretary) in a plain top and jeans and tennis shoes. i generally don't wear eyelliner and two layers of mascara and bright green eyeshadow.

and you want to match your color families:
if i am wearing a dark brown top then i wouldn't want to wear a pink blush and pink lipgloss. i would lean more towards warmer to neutral tones. (deep red/ tans/ browns)
