I have a six year old son and I'm pregnant again. I wouldn't have him in the room for the internal ultrasounds I've been getting, but I really want him there for the external ultrasounds when the baby gets bigger and when we find out the sex of the baby. That way, he'll be a part of the pregnancy and won't feel left out or that we're focusing on the new baby more than him. I don't think it's a good idea for him to be in the room when I give birth though. I think it's great that you bring your daughter with you. It's not weird at all.

Hmm...I think 6 is too young to see mommy in those compromising positions. You can make her involved with the new baby in other ways like having her help set up the baby's room. I would recommend leaving her home or in waiting room if another adults joins. However, I would not take her into the examination room.

My mom had me in the room during her prenatal visits. she kept me above the waist when they did internals.
I don't think it's weird at all, and who knows this could lead to an interest in being a Doctor or a Nurse!

No. I dont think its wierd. I think its good for him/her to see the little sibling on screen. I dont think it would be a good idea though if it involves you being to ''exposed'' if you know what I mean. I am looking forward to having my child with me when I start my second child. Its a good experience for them. Watching the baby grow and having contact with what is going on with you and your body.
I hope your doctor helps you too.

I think it's a positive way for her to bond with the baby and share the experience. If she is well-behaved and as long as you are comfortable with it, the doctor shouldn't mind.

I wouldnt have her in for the internal exams, obviously. But for the regular check ups, why not? She can learn a lot and have a fun time seeing all this happening.
