first and foremost make sure your hands are clean.
you don't want bacteria swiming around in your foundation or your face. don't rub, dab as you blend. don't use a sponge you waste too much foundation. for best results use a brush.

I've found the best way to apply foundation is using a brush, but I'm sure it depends on the foundation, skin-type, what type of looking you're wanting, and that kind of thing. But, if you do decide that you want to just use your fingers, make sure you don't "rub" the foundation in - that generally just makes your skin red, which isn't what you're looking for. Try patting it in gently, using a downward motion with your fingers.

I hope you find the answer you're looking for!

Well.. If you're a 'make-up lover' you should know.. But basicaly you just rub it in, but you get such a better [and smoother] finish when using a sponge.. And they're only like 99p!

it is best to use a makeup sponge. If you must use your finger
do so in upward strokes and don't pull on your skin.
