my man and i have lived together for 6 months. the lease is in both of our names. i have been paying the rent by taking his half part and i put it in my checking account and then i pay the landlord with my check. the two months security deposit is in my name. this month we have been fighting and he wants me to move. he told me that he will pay the rent. he paid the rent in full on jan 2. and paid it in cash. now yesterday the landlord called me and ask me for the rent. i told him to call my man because he is responsible for it. now iam scared because he paid him and i have no reciept to prove i did. can the landlord and my ex team up to evict me.

First, how do you know for sure that your boyfriend paid the rent?
Second, why didn't you pay the rent like you have always done. That way you have proof you paid and if your boyfriend really did pay him, he'll prove it by speaking up. I'm sure no matter what he isn't going to just give the landlord money he isn't due.
Third, and most important, why would you want to stay someplace where you are not wanted by not only your boyfriend but the landlord as well? They can and probably will make your life a living hell if you stay there. Cut your losses and run.

You need to tell your landlord what is going on. You may have to sublet the apartment even.

It´s better for you to move A.S.A.P. Forget about the money. Your safety is much more important !
