I am assuming you are the bride - you want to stick to something cool and loose - but as it's a wedding something which still reflects the bridal gown in white.
Wear a pair of white cotton trousers and a white basque with a cute trilby hat with a single bright red gerbera flower in the rim. You can carry a 'boquet' of three gerberas tied with a white satin ribbon!
The red just ads that flash of colour and if you are taking bridesmaids they coudl wear little red summer dresses.
You can get a white basque easy enough at many high street stores like Top Shop and even Primark now, or you could get one from a bridal shop - maybe get one with red beads sewn into it. You could even wear a red belt made from a silk scarf. A pair of red strappy shoes will just set this off. Make sure huby-to-be wears a single gerbera in his lapel too.
If you are not the bride go with the same but the white cotton trousers and a coloured basque- but not black. Maybe a midnight blue. A matching trilby and shoes too but lose the flower.
Whatever you decide - have fun x

Im writing a book at the moment and the heroin falls in love with a tomboy at a wedding. The first moment she sees her shes wearing a white linen trouser set and black flip flops. you dont have to wear anything under it or just a strappy top will do. GORGEOUS!

I went to a wedding on a beach wear the tomboyish bride was wearing light, kind of cream colored gauzy pants and a silk Hawaiian shirt. The other bride wore a dress that matched her partner's shirt. Most of the guests wore sundresses, or khaki slacks and button front shirts.

Depends.
Are you part of the wedding party, dress will be told to you, follow custom.
If not check what others of your age and sex are wearing. Dress nice and feminine (No pants, wear a dress or skirt). The wedding couple invited you as an honor, don't mess it up for them by looking goofy.

Wear what you feel comfortable in, with a bit of something special, as it is a special occasion.
I would go for something with a sarong, suits every stile and figure.
Or you find something local which you find suitable.
Mainly have fun and cherish the moment

A nice pair of slacks and a blouse that isn't too 'girly'. Something you'll be comfortable in but still looks classy.

Maybe something like this?

(Not trying to say anything about your sexual orientation).

Have fun!
