I may get an Apple laptop someday, but how much would it cost to convert it to a Windows Vista OS? I would like to be able to run all my games and programs on Windows, and switch back to Mac for going online, ect.

Wow, that's like putting $30 Wal-mart tires on a Ferrari! Try OS 10 before doing that - please.

I believe the newest version of the Mac OS X allows you to dual boot into windows XP...doubt Vista will be supported with this. The only way you can just switch seamlessly from Windows to Mac without restarting your computer is to run windows in a virtual computer on the mac os x. It generally runs a bit slower though. Virtual computers are setup by software, many companies make it, chose the one you like best.

You will need to install 2 pieces of software on the Apple that is intel-based
1) Boot Camp about $150 made by Apple - this software will let the Windows software install on the Apple
2) A valid copy of Windows Vista w/license which will be to be determined, I would say about $150

It costs whatever the cost of buying the Windows OS install CD's.

Just adding from other responses I see. Boot Camp is FREE.

Provided your mac is one of the new intel core duo-based macbooks, all you need to do is get a copy of Windows, which will cost you maybe $250.

Or, borrow a copy from an unscrupulous friend and then it's free.
