'TONS!! I can't explain it but it is true (at least in Utah). Most of the ones I knew dreamed of rags to riches scenarios...also the whole 'God is Conservative' crap has an impressive impact on less educated people.

I haven't seen a study lately but when I was in college we looked at some. The demographics for liberal and republican are almost equal as far as income distribution. You have poor Republicans and wealthy Democrats in about the same numbers. In the study I recall, Democrats actually had a higher avg income.

Please stop believing in sterotypes 7 out of the 10 richest senators are democrats including Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

Usually the people that perpetuate this myth are democrats, most republicans has a philosophy of hard work self reliance ,so many might give the illusion of being well off.

I grew up upper lower class, financially speaking. I was brought up with common sense and a good moral compass. As an adult, I am quite conservative, middle class, and basically an Independent, with strong Republican leanings. That doesn't mean I agree with everything every Republican does, it just means I look for conservatives who model their lives and their politics in a manner I can support.

My dad is a preacher and my mom a public school teacher, so we are not very rich. There are a whole lot of poor, and middle class Republicans, and Democrats as well.

For your information, a majority of conservatives are middle class. I've never met a wealthy Conservative. Of course the ones in the government are wealthy. You have to have money to do that.

Yep, I know plenty from low income families. Ignorance has nothing to do with financial standing. There are plenty of low income people who can see through liberal rhetoric.
