I do too. We had high hopes of taking it down fairly quickly but didn't realize our almost two year old daughter would develop an abiding love for it. She says goodnight to it ("Bye, tree") and goodmorning ("Tree! Hi, tree.") and will sometimes just be struck with a need to visit with it for a while, hanging out under it, placing her stuffed animals and toys around it so they can better enjoy it, too. We're considering buying a ficus and adding a strand or two of Christmas lights as a replacement. Our girl loves trees.

i had a plant playing a part of the christmas tree this year ...lol... had no time to get a real one, and well, this one was nice and green too.. aehmm it did its job great, but suffered a lot under all those luminous things, so i needed to save it as soon as possible.. now more than a week that it's retired..

I took mine down just last eve. My husband told me that if I left it up for another week then I might as well leave it up for next Christmas; it would be right around the corner.
Now everything seems so dull and empty.

I sympathize with you bc I am not really ready to let go of Christmas yet. Every year, I regret it when it's over. I'm still playing Christmas music cds.

I'll have my tree at work up until the end of the month. I didn't put one up at home this year.

Embarassingly, yes. It'll probably stay up for a while yet, because family issues trump leftover xmess right now.
