Actually, it is possible to get kits to make old-fashioned flintlock type firearms. I am certain you need to limit them to demonstration shows and practice and so on, but I have seen such kits advertised.
I have also heard of kits to make little bitty brass canons, apparently as part of the whole miniatures world. I remember some amazing booms up in the hills here a few years back on the Fourth of July, so perhaps some machinists know how to go further, perhaps using the miniatures as models for the real thing.
As to making anything but the legally purchased kits described, that would be most likely illegal unless you went so far as to become a professional gunsmith, or apprentice to one, and go through whatever licensing and registration is involved in that process. Probably both state and federal regulations for every aspect of his business. Lots of them.

BE carefull. A 14 year old boy made a gun our of pipe and when he went to fire it the gun exploded. The barrel hit him in the neck, severing arteries. He was pronunced dead at the scene.
This a true story. I was at the scene when the police arrived.
Ask yourself exactly WHY you would want to make a 'homemade gun'!

Perhaps the Military Category under Government & Politics or Outdoor Recreation, listed under the Sports Category would get you a better answer to your question!

I know that you can buy blackpowder gun kits. As far as making your own barrel, stock, trigger assembly, etc. unless you have thousands of dollars to invest in the machines, you wont be able to make anything worth shooting.

Isn't that illegal? Probably shouldn't give plans for a GUN to someone with the avatar name "Lonely Guy".
