No / is the universal Code for Divide

If you wish to have a divide sign on say a piece or work in MS Word you can find it located in the symbols...

In EXCEL however for mathmatical function / must be used...

You can find the divide symbol in Character Map or Symbols.

Not on the keyboard but when in a word document you can insert a symbol. Click on insert then symbol then chose "wingdings" from the drop down box, you should see the ÷ then click on insert. You can then cut and paste this to any document as I've just done.

In Word select "Symbol" from the "insert" on the toolbar. Select the divide , press shortcut key and select a button you don't use to be the shortcut key.

Not on the keyboad you will find it on the symbol font. See all the chararcters for the symobl font via the character map in windows

try ALT+246

There are loads of symbols available like the degrees sign, have a look at my link.

They should work on most desktop computers, but for some reason not on my lap top...

Try character map in start > programs > accessories > system tools.

Hope this helps, there's hundreds of symbols in there!

depends on the character set you are using (ie, Arial, Times New Roman, Courier etc)

but it should appear by holding alt, type the numbers and let go of alt:
Alt + 0247

Try [alt]246 or [Insert] go down to [Synbols] and search the symbol you want to use.
