in time of war, or other places where the national security is at risk, it would be aiding and abetting of actions that would benefit the enemy(s) desertion is leaving your post or command responsiblities with no intention to return. in the general society the answers are pretty much the same and would include such things as divulging corporate secrets ot the company competitors for financial gain or reward. the same is true of plagerism, the taking of someone elses work and claiming it to be your own original work, such as this answer in applying it to a school home work assignment
