I am just curious? I have been married for 15 years come this May 2007. I am constantly flirting with men. Sometimes consciously and sometimes clueless that I am doing it. I have watched other people, men and women alike flirting and I know they are coupled. So why do people do it and please don't tell me it is all about S-E-X. Why? Why? Why?

I am flirting with my son's teacher and love the interaction. SO you are all right...it is purely for fun. I crave attention and at 36 doubt very much I will grow up where this is concerned. FLIRT ON my little army of soldiers....LOL

You got some really excellent answers....I think we all flirt, and usually it is harmless and means nothing. I agree with most of the answers prior - it makes everyone involved in the flirting feel good, desired and it is fun. I do not think that flirting (usually) has anything to do with sex.

First, let me say that I've been married for only half the time you have, but also flirt a lot. And neither me, nor my husband, has any issues with it. As long as it is not physical, I don't think it's a problem...
For me, I flirt because it's fun and I enjoy the attention. I also think it makes people remember the qualities in their spouse that they were attracted to.

Just because you flirt with someone doesn't mean that you want to be with that person or have sex with that person. Innocent flirting, is OK as long as that is all it is, its good for your mental health and knowing that you are an happy, attractive person that can interact with others.

I know I'm only 16 but i think people flirt becuase its our nature to. We have some what control over it but we cant help that we flirt, its just to keep life exciting!! Have fun, but dont do anything!
