I got a new 30GB iPod Video recently, which is my second iPod. My first was one of the ancient 20GB old ones. I had no problems with it at all, whenever I played songs on it and plugged it into my computer, iTunes would update the number of times I had played each song on my iPod, like it was supposed to.

Now all of a sudden, none of the songs I play on my new iPod end up showing up as played on my iTunes. Like, say, today I listened to a song on my iPod that was brand new and I'd never played it before. On my iTunes it would say zero plays for that song, right? Okay, but when I plug in my iPod, it updates with new songs all fine but it won't show that I played that one song, it'll still say zero plays despite the fact that I listened to it completely from start to finish.

So I was just wondering if there's a box I need to click to make it keep track, or if it's just a glitch or what?

I had the same problem with my Nano a year back. I would sync and the times played wouldn't update, just like you note.

I reset my Nano, then updated it, then made a new playlist to load onto it, and it worked fine after that. Must have been a glitch.

Always make sure it is done synchronizing before changing your playlists. And never change the list before sync'ing. That's the advice I got off a forum at the time.

Good luck. I hope this helps.
