i do not accept it at all i saw the first answer and it was"When you get an emotional scar, you will understand why",i hate it.i hate it when people consider a right for themselves to do whatever they want when they get emotional or angry.
it is related to u,only u, when u get angry u r not allowed to do anything immoral.
please stop hinking like that.
we are living in the same world ,all of us has the right to breathe,to enjoy his/her life,to see pretty things ,to experience nice things,.....
and no one should let himself/herself to ignore others rights.
those kinda men who beat on others have psycological problems i guess.

You even said it: because they are a coward. Usually they say if you were abused as a child you repeat the pattern. But I am living proof that you can break the pattern. My father verbally and physically abused me, but I am a mother of five grown children and they were never abused. I never abused my kids because I remembered how I felt when I was beaten to a pulp. So there is no excuse for that 'idiot", he needs to get some counseling and take an anger management course.

Usually they have not gotten their emotional needs met within their family. Often times, their father was a beater. But if a man wants to be loved and feel love, he will work through those issues of his childhood and will not carry on the tradition. It's a horrible life for both the abuser and the victim. And often, a woman that stays in an abusive relationship, was brought up in an unstable relationship and therefore views it as "normal". How sad......................

No. The men have no self respect either. And any woman who puts up with it deserves what they get.
For some people however, this is part of the pathology of their "happy" relationship. Aggressive/submissive. That's their deal.
It runs the other way also. Some men like to be put down by their women. Like cuckolds. Strange but true!

In my opinion I think it makes them feel like they are in control. I ve been through mental and physical abuse with males,I got over the physical abuse alot quicker than the emotional and mental abuse. But personnally if another man trys to put his hands on me ever again,He just might not live to hit another.

If they cheat in yr own bed..? Lie to your face and smirk about it? Tell vicious lies about you to family, friends and relatives? Hit you, maliciously, first? Break all your favorite things and laugh? Spend ALL your money, on clothes and things for themselves and their biyfriends/ Neglect the kids? Contract HIV and not tell you? Get off your high horse, Prince Charming, some women can be vicious.

I suppose it's the need to be superior. It's ridiculous for anyone to hit another unless in self defense. Violance is never the answer. It's hard to see that sometimes when you think you love the person.

Somewhere along the line they were taught that it is ok to beat on whoever is weaker than you. Maybe their parents beat on them, maybe they were allowed to beat on smaller kids when they grew up, who knows? At any rate it is a total lack of respect for anyone they deem weaker.
Any woman who allows a man to beat on her has no respect for herself either. If some man beat me up, he would wake up on fire that night.

i think that men who beat women do so, because their ego is blown out of proportion. they need to continually reassure themselves that they are the "masters" in the relationship. it's a whole domination-thing in their heads.
but it's not always the case... you can't always blame them. most of the time, it's because of a painful past experience, that left its scars deeply rooted in the person's conscience.
it's like when you hear of children that were beaten up as kids... when they grow up, most of the time, they reproduce what their parents did to them...they end up beating their own children.
