Nah. Take me. I'm only mostly positive and mostly in touch with reality. I let go sometimes just for fun.

The closest person to this that I know is my mom. She's been through a lot, but she can see the light in any situation. I'm still trying to figure out how she does it. She admits it's not easy. I'm trying to be a realistic optimist myself, & a lot of it is mind over matter. It's way too easy to sink into negative thinking than it is positive, & there are too many reasons why this is so. However, with the right people around & resources galore, my thinking patterns are changing over time for the better. I don't like feeling negative about everything all the time.

I fancy myself truly positive and still in touch with reality. =) It just depends on what side of reality you're looking at. There's the upbeat side, and the "The world's going to hell in a handbasket" side. You just have to look at the things in the world which are optimistic--teens who volunteer, not teens who do drugs. You can acknowledge that the bad things are there, and look for a way to IMPROVE those things. That's what leads to happy-go-lucky realists.

If you are in touch with reality how could you possibly be positive. Reality sucks. Recession, unemployment, outrageous energy and housing prices. World wide terrorism and poverty. What's there to be positive about?

This question made me laugh out loud (at work). It's a good question. I know several people who are very positive, but that double combo is kinda rare in my circle. I think I'm the only one. I'm sure the rest of the people in my circle think they are the only ones.

Told you it was rare.
