I use sensitive skin after shave, but was wondering if there is something more.

Thanks for answers so far... to add to that, I'm 22 and been shaving for almost 7 years, so it's not because it's my first rodeo.

Also, I use an electric razor mostly.

Are you using shaving cream first ? Soap suds ?

You are getting razor burn. Then, the "sensitive skin" aftershave probably has a drying agent in it like alcohol. I would break out if I used that, too.

Make sure you shave downwards, not up (not like you see the guys do it on t.v.) or sideways. Rinse your face off. Use aloe or a moisturizing cream like Olay Night or Eucerin body lotion afterwards.

Also, use a clean, fresh razor so it doesn't pull the skin (switch the razor blade every 1 week and a half or so).

I would recommend Ultra Shave as a post shave moisturiser. It has wonderful skin healing properties and contains grape seed extract, which is 15000 times stronger than vitamin E.

It is a very rich cream and you should let your skin fully absorb it after massaging it into your skin.

You could also consider using a treatment like Tend Skin, but it can be quite harsh to begin with.

The skin on the neck can be more sensitive than skin on the face. You may try using different products or a new razor. It's possible you have an allergy to an ingredient in the aftershave, or maybe it's just razor burn.

Shave with the growth of your hair. After you shave your skin is irritated and your follicles dilated, the last thing you want to do it put anything on it that can cause irritation or clog your pores. The only thing I would put on is a good after shave, one that is anti inflammatory and non irritating. Stop putting lotion and deodorant on your neck...that is what is breaking you out.

I find it a little better if I just space out the shaving a little more - to 36 hours instead of 24. Shave Sunday night, Tuesday morning, Wednesday night, Friday morning....
if you can get away with it. I am still able to but who knows if forever....
