I am a poet, but I have never asked anyone to read my poetry. Everytime I tell people I write poetry...they get this scared look on their faces...lol.

I would go. I've been a poet all my life, as a hobby. I've even published a few. I enjoy reading my poetry and listening to others read theirs. It takes a lot of confidence. When you tell most people you're a poet, they usually thing you're nuts.

Sure I love poetry. I'd like to hear some readings.

I enjoy hearing poetry read by someone, rather than me reading it from a book.

After I stopped laughing I would say no. Then I would laugh some more, possibly while slapping my knee and wiping tears from my eyes.

Yep, I'd go because I've never been to one. Can't promise I wouldn't engage in some satirical humour though...
