Trying to give a serious answer...

Well, if the earth had to stop suddenly and change direction, we'd all be thrown into the air ( buildings, dams, oceans and all) because of the speed at which we're moving right now. ( This happens in a short story called' The Man who could work Miracles')

If we assume Earth was always moving in the opp. direction, then:

weather would be vastly different everywhere,
the Sun and Moon would rise in the west and set in the east

Was this asked yesterday or is my mind going in the opposite direction?
The many thousands of mph wind would rip everything off the face of the earth. Bedrock would survive. Other than that we would all be gonezo.
This question is blowing me awwwwaaaaay////.......
again.

1. We'd all fall down.
2. The wind patterns would change and the weather would be al messed up. Eastern US would be cold because we'd get Arctic air instead of warm tropical air.

If the Earth were to change its rotation direction, we'd have to assume that during the change the Earth would actually stop spinning at one point. Should that happen our atmosphere would stop protecting us, gravity would lose its grip and all life would end as we know it.
