I can't even understand the question, let alone answer it..any help?thanks!

You are given four test tubes containing purified biological macromolecules. The test tubes are unlabeled except for a number between 1 and 4. You are told that one test tube contains a protein, one contains a lipid, one contains a carbohydrate, and one contains a nucleic acid. You then perform some tests on the macromolecules and collect the following information:
a. Test tubes #2 and #4 contain nitrogen, but the other tubes do not.
b. The contents of test tube #3 are not soluble in water, but the contents of the other test tubes are soluble in water.
c. The contents of test tube #1 can be broken down into subunits that are all exactly identical to each other.
d. The macromolecule in test tube #2 is found to have a globular shape.
What are the identities of the macromolecules present in the four test tubes? Explain how you arrived at your decision.

# 1 - Carbohydrate - since the monosaccharides composing it are identical in form and function

# 2 - Protein - the third level of protein formation gives it a 3-Dimensional shape and globular form to it, while the 4th level sets up the interconnected nature of proteins

# 3 - Lipid - not water-soluble period!

# 4 - Nucleic Acid - nitrogen based macromolecules that have different forms which still combine into DNA and RNA ... genetic combinations (which cannot be seen in sugars (carbohydrates)).

a. #2 and #4 are nucleic acids and proteins
b. #3 could be a lipid, a large carbohydrate, or an insoluble protein -- but it can't be a protein because it doesn't contain nitrogen as we showed in experiment A.
c. #1 is the carbohydrate -- of these, only carbohydrates have identical subunits.
d. #2 is probably a protein -- proteins are more likely to be globular than the others.

#1 carbohydrate
#2 protein
#3 lipid
#4 nucleic acid

3 - lipid not soluble in water
1 - Carbohydrate - identical subunits, no nitrogen
2 - Protein - globular shape
4 - DNA - has nitrogen, exclusion

I have no idea. I was ok in Biology but I'm not a expert and it's not my strong subject.
