I have real player and windows media player (I'm not exactly sure what or if I have flash player) but when I try to play or watch something it is very choppy (starts and stops, no flow). Too often, just opening a web page is difficult and takes forever depending on if there's advertisements etc.

cracker Dan above jumped ahead of me with his "aaa" post to be the first post in this thread. Too bad he is assuming that you have Norton Antivirus, which is what the snake meant by "LiveUpdate".

The PC is likely infected with spyware/adware, or the hardware you're using is severely outdated.

No one can tell you for sure what's going on without looking at it. At the very least, you should provide as many specs as you can when posting questions like this. For example, how old your PC is, the make/model, how much memory it has, etc., whatever you know...

Imagine trying to get an answer over the phone from your mechanic about what's wrong with your car! Hell, he's not going to spend 5 seconds trying to listen. Stuff like this is easier solved with as much detail as possible, or even better, being there in person. Like the others below have said, it could also be a slow internet connection, so hopefully you're not still on dial-up asking this question!!

You have a slow Internet connection
Think of Online video as any other file, the longer it is the bigger the file size. So what's happening is that you can watch it faster than you can download it. The stops and starts is you getting ahead of yourself. This when it starts "Buffering" your connection is downloading the rest of the file and sending you a bit to watch at a time.

If you do have DSL or Cable, well then I don't know what's wrong.

Sounds like you need a faster connection to the internet. If you are dialing up then go to cable or DSL. If you're already on cable or DSL you need to ask your internet provider to verify that your connection speed is up to par.

You may have spyware, Run a Virus Definitions update (Live Update), then scan for viruses and spyware.

Remove anything it finds if you can.
