Its the shelf life of the product, it usually has a number followed by the letter M and this signifies how many months it is good for.

It's the use by date - there'll be a number such as 12m next to it, showing that the product should be used within one year of first opening.

i think the trashbin means disposable in regular trash, as opposed to requiring special disposal...
