just an example:

CHEAP LABOR?

Isn't that what the whole immigration issue is about?

Business doesn't want to pay a decent wage

Consumers don't want expensive produce

Government will tell you Americans don't want the jobs

But the bottom line is cheap labor
The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a lie
~ there is no such thing as "cheap labor."

Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children.

He takes a job for $5.00 or $6.00/hour.

At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax,
yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return,
he gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.

He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent

He qualifies for food stamps

He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay)
health care

His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school

He requires bilingual teachers and books

He qualifies for relief from high energy bills

If they are or become, aged, blind or disabled,
they qualify for SSI.

Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare.

All of this is at the taxpayer's expense.

He doesn't worry about car insurance, life
insurance, or homeowners insurance.

Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins
and printed material.

He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to
$30.00/hour in benefits.

Working Americans are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00/hour
Left after paying their bills and his.

The American taxpayers also pay for increased crime,
graffiti and trash clean-up.

NO...not much. Case in point, however, myself. I've been without employment for the last 4 years except for a work/study grant at the college I attended. I was on Pell Grants after the first semester. But, since that time I've graduated (May,06) but I am also 57 years old. I had left my former position in retail management to take care of my mom, and had left behind the bennies as well. So, since I cannot get a job, the state thinks I only have to have partial health insurance, and if I get in an accident and would be in a hospital, I could not stay. No hospital stays will be approved by the state...only 'out patient'. Doesn't do much if I'm half dead from an accident.

They've also determined that I should work...OH...DAAAHHHH!! Who else out there wants to work!! ME ME ME...CHOOSE ME!!
BUT, they are refusing me any food bennies and will not give me money because I have a free roof over my head. I guess I'm supposed to live on air and water. (My ex was kind enough to let me stay here till I can get on my feet). But for YEARS of working and paying taxes to those who make a living off the welfare system because they are just lazy, can't speak the language, or just coming over, this is what I as an American get.

So, as the saying goes...if you have a job, change in your pocket or on your dresser in a jar, feel blessed. Maybe you're struggling, but you still have that job. It's more than others have.

You are right! We also get to pay taxes so when our politiciations retire even after only one term they get free medical and more retirement pay for life, than most of us ever earn.
QNCYGUY sure qualified a lot of them, are there any left? Don't worry they all will be included soon..

Its your own fault for not organizing to amend the constitution ending representative government & the wealthy ruling mob class control! Replacing it with majority rule & control by the legal citizens! It is THE only way more people will be included instead of excluded & victimized!!!!!! For the lady above me & millions of many other legal Americans http://www.usbig.net/ Include this link every time you write congress.org!

Not really. We get stuck with everything yet no assistance for anything. Not that I woudl want assistance, but come one I pay more a month in taxes than my rent - and I dont make lots of money.

You forgot to add, we pay for them to have lawyers when they break the law, pay for their stay in prison, we have to pay to have more security guards at those prisons, we have to pay for increased law enforcement personnel, etc.

For companies that want true low wage workers, they ship those jobs to India or other overseas labor markets.

All excellent arguments for the drastic reduction or outright abolishing of government. The immigrant isn't the problem -- it's the bureacracy that steals from others and redistributes wealth to him.

I hear ya.Still i believe that it is my personal responsibility to work my way out of that almost non exist ant middle class.Even if i were to become rich,i would be stuck paying 30% of my income so illegal aliens can lay around and have babies.
