I've been on the pill for about 6 yrs. Me & hubby want to try & conceive. Is it ok to stop my pills now? I'm taking seasonique (like seasonale) where u only have 4 periods a year so I don't want to have to wait 2 more months to stop the pill.
How long did it take you when you first came off the pill? Did anyone get pregnant before your regular period came back??

I got pregnant right away. I must have ovulated 14 days after I took my last pill. It was quite a surprise, but one that I am very happy with!! I now have a beautiful little boy.

I got pregnant right away before my next period came due. This was years ago, back in the 60's. We didn't have a pill to where we only had 4 periods a year. That's awesome! Any way I still had monthly periods while on the pill and was pregnant in less than a month when I went off the pill. Good luck.

I was on Ortho Cyclen for 8 years and I got pregnant the first month I stopped. So about 2 weeks after my last pill I got pregnant. Most doctors I talked to before said it should take about 3 months after stopping the pill. I guess I got really lucky.
Good luck.

I was on the regular pill and for my first baby (2005), my doc said to finish the pack of pills I was on, use an alternate form of birth control like condoms for a month until I had my next period (complete a cycle with no pills), then we were free to start trying. She also put me on prescription prenatal vitamins for the month before we tried. It's good to have that folic acid during those early months of pregnancy.

I got pregnant that first month we tried.

I was on the pill for 8 years...I stopped taking them a year after I got married and it took my husband and I three months to conceive. Our Dr. told us to have sex once a day every other day...no more no less. If you have sex more than that your husbands sperm count will actually decrease. And just in case you're wondering...there is NO position to have sex in to increase your chances of getting pregnant.

Good luck...don't stress-it'll take longer if you do!

P.S. Get some pre-natal vitamins and start taking them now. It'll help to ensure you have the proper nutrients for the baby as soon as you get pregnant. You can get them over the counter from Target for $6.99 for a bottle of 200.
