The "American Dream" is a marketing myth that was perpetuated during the expansion period immediately after World War II. Similar to the notion that America's streets are paved with gold, this sentiment expresses hope and the prospect of financial and social independence.
However, there is no "American Dream."

There's more than way to view an American Dream and I've just learned that. You don't necessarily have to have the "white picket fence and two children and a dog" to have it. I think YOU define your American Dream. You can obtain it I think whether you're rich or poor. If you live within your means, and you;re happy with who you are and your family etc, that could be considered your American Dream. The "American Dream" most people are thinking of really doesn't exist anymore. Too many things have changed. People, society, inflation, ideas, etc have edited the original version of "The American Dream" meaning things aren't the same now that they were 10-20years ago.

The American Dream?
The American Dream is what ever the American dreams of...
You can not give an actual objective definition to what the American Dream and then evaluate if one has obtained by measurable quantities.
You see the American Dream is just that. An American who dreams to be something. And it can be anything.
The truth remains about the American Dream. That if you are an American and you Dream about doing something....most likely if you put hard work into it and strive for it you will achieve it.
That is what is great about America.

It depends on how you define the American Dream. If you think that owning a home and be able to support yourself. Then yes. Ithink that it is attainable.

I think the American dream is just that, a dream. Its whatever makes you happy, which is a huge problem and a great blessing at the same time. Whatever makes you happy...
