You will need to get an email client or your domain provider may have one, If it is just a few emails it may only cost you $100 for a year.

Just buying a domain doesn't accomplish much except to reserve that particular combination of letters and numbers in the WWW look-up table.

You have to point that name to a specific IP address and then to a specific mailbox / web space.

Usually the party that you registered the domain name with provides the direction to an IP address but you have to have an Internet Service Provider ISP to actually have a mailbox or web space.

I believe some of the free ISPs like Yahoo will allow forwarding to your Yahoo mail and maybe even you website but your registrar has to provide the forwarding.

You don't create email addresses in a domain name. Once you have a web site or page hosted, your host will provide email addresses for you to use. You do this through the host's control panel. Most hosts provide many free email addresses. There is a huge range of costs for hosting. Many hosting companies hide their lowest rate on their web sites - look hard. I recommend GoDaddy, but there are many others in that price range ($50 per year).
