If you are breastfeeding totally normal / if not, still normal. A baby's stomach can digest the liquids at a fast rate, especially breastmilk isn't it isn't as heavy as formula. Usually an infant will want to eat every 1 1/2 to 3 hours; some actually eat every hour!
When you begin to introduce solids such as rice cereal or pureed foods, their apettite will not be so all consuming - as for what age, that is dependant on your physcian and you. My son was given solids at four months and began to sleep through most the night yet still was feedings in between solid feedings.
Congrats as well!!!

It's normal. 90% of babies start sleeping through the night without waking up to eat at about the age of 9-10 months. Before then, it's quite normal to eat every 2-3 hours through all day and all night!

I too felt overhelmed with all these feedings. But much to my dismay it lasted until he was off the bottle. I took him off at 12 months and not a minute more! It did get up to about every 4 hours when he was probably about 7 months but it was rough the whole 12 months. the one thing is I've never heard of two babies being the same as your child will develop his own schedule. I would not give him cereal until he is at least 31/2 to 4 months. Their stomachs cannot digest it and it will make them gassy and very fussy. Try a warm bath at night. and I used to try to get him to eat an ounce or two more at night so maybe he would only wake up once.

My son isnt even 4 months old yet and he still normally eats every 2-3 hours during the day and can wait 6 hours at night but then his tummy makes noise and he wont wait anymore. I bottle feed him and just started cereal with him. Its very normal. Let ur bay eat when he/she chooses to. dont force a schedule.

I have a 5 month old and she deffinetly doesnt eat every two hours but every baby is different. Have you tried her on jar baby food and then give her a bottle? They sell baby food feeder(looks kinda like a bottle but at the baby sucks it pulls the food toward the nipple) if you arent comfortable givinig her a spoon yet. My 5 month old is on stage 2 right now. Maybe she isnt hungry but she likes the sucking for comfort. In that case a pacifier would be great. I dont like them nor use them but hey it might be the fix. Try talking to her pediatrician again. If he/she is any good they shoudl have great suggestions for this.

Are you breastfeeding? Breast milk is digested very quickly so hence, they need to eat more. For example, I breast fed my son and he wanted to eat every 1-3 hours and usually woke up at least 1-2 times a night to eat. My neice was formula fed and she went 4 hous between feedings and rarely woke to be fed overnight. This is because formula is usually digested slowly.
Either way, your baby is normal. Before too long he or she will need to eat less frequently & you'll probably miss this time together. :)
Good luck!

(But then again my daughter has been sleeping thru the night since 2 months old)

Totally normal.
Might be a growth spurt too.
They are working HARD to double birthweight by 6 mos at this age. If you had to double your weight, imagine how often you'd need to eat!
Breastmilk digests in about 90 mins and baby's tummy is only the size of his fist.
Small, frequent meals.....just the way the rest of us should really eat!
