I accidentally tipped a twenty dollar bill once for an 8 dollar meal and didn't know it until we had left the restaurant. Oh, and Uncle Bill Grumpy? The waiters in most cares don't even get minimum wages. And not leaving anything just shows them just how cheap a person can be. I don't even like to be around cheapskates like you!

I have a couple stories.
Once I went to a restaurant and the waitress was hot so I tipped her $5 for a $7 meal.

Then once I tipped like $10 on a $50 meal... I was drunk. I honestly couldn't do the basic math to figure out how much to tip.

$25 or $30 on a $75 bill.

It was at a local restaurant, the Briarhurst Manor.

My husband had taken me out for my birthday (41st). My birthday is mid-March, we can get a lot of snow that time of year. That day we had a fabulous snowfall and the restaurant is in a more mountainous town next to my city. Hardly anybody was coming out (which is normal when we get that sort of snow). We had the restaurant to nearly to ourselves and the waitress knew it was my birthday, so she put us at a table for two in a bay window. It was like being inside a snowglobe. Her service was absolutely wonderful. (Attentive without being intrusive.) This is, obviously, one of my best memories with my husband (or anyone!).
