Generally tights are more durable than pantyhose. The do run like pantyhose but not as easily nor as often.
Tights cost a bit more but last longer and are great for winter.
Stick with smooth solids if you want your legs to look longer. The range of colors make them a good way to add color to a winter outfit.

tights are more durable, they have more threading than a panty hose. Depending on the maker some will run but they hold up longer and it takes a lot to ruin them. Panty hose are sheer less threads and are fragile. Tights are great when the weather gets cool or cold.

yes, b/c the tights are thicker. but pantyhose are better if you're dressing up. but the answer to your question is no, they don't run like pantyhose, and tights are thicker.

I'm not sure, but I was told to put pantyhose in the freezer for awhile & it reduces snaggs & pulls. Not sure though.

tights tend to be more forgiving than do panti-hose, as they are made of a heavier-weight yarn. they usually get holes in them rather than running. they also tend to come in more colours and patterns than do panti-hose...stripes, solids, checks, tie-dye print, as well as other prints....
panti-hose tend to be only available in shades of brown, black, white, and occasionally, navy blue
