My gut reaction is 'heck no!', but it really is not that simple. Just pulling the troops out without considering the consequences is just as utterly stupid as attacking Iraq without considering the consequences was. i.e. - two acts of stupidity do not equal one inteligent decision.

I think I can agree Cindy Sheehan is a patriot. She has a simply stated reason for her actions, and she believes she is acting in the best interest of this country. I also believe she is completely wrong. Just as wrong as Bush was to have invaded in the first place.

I was there for Vietnam, and Sheehan is a reminder of it. Her retoric and actions do not allow for thoughtful discussion. She and her followers are extremely detructive, even to people trying to extract us from that mess. Once you start chanting "troops home NOW!" you are giving no thought to the consequences of that action, and as far as I am concerned, that is indeed 'cut and run'. It may come to the point where that is the only viable course of action, but it will come with an incredible price for that region.

There is room to consider both George Bush and Cindy Sheehan wrong for different reasons, agreed?

Dude you don't know what Patriot means stop asking questions about it. The only question you should ask is "what is a patriot!" because you don't understand the term. She may be your hero but that does not make her a patriot. She may spout your same bs agenda but that does not make her a patriot.

The fact is you people don't want to be patriots, because patriots love and support their country and submit to its authority, that is the definition of patriot. You and she are not that. Doesn't mean you're less valid but you are not patriots.

Asking continued derisive questions like this however makes you less valid.

Cindy Sheman. Patriot to any cause against the USA and willing to stand on her dead sons back to make a buck. Yeah. She's a true patriot alright. She's an attention hag with an agenda. Her 15 minutes are up.

I just read 20 responses to this question and must say that the vicious comments about Cindy Sheehan are absolutely revolting. I've never witnessed such a collection of pathetic, insensitive hogwash in my life. Do any of you knuckleheads have a clue what it's like to lose a child? Have any of you served in the military at wartime? I'm a Vietnam veteran. I saw people get blown apart; watched friends die; and I've had to kill people. You haven't a clue what it's like. Whoever quoted the phrase, "War is hell", knew what he was talking about. You should all hang your heads in shame.

If you really believe in this war, then get your butts down to your local recruiting office, enlist in the Marines, and volunteer for duty in Iraq. If you're too old to join the military, take a leave of absence from your job, and volunteer to support the military in Iraq as a civilian. If you're not willing to do this, then your support of this insane war and your comments about Cindy Sheehan have not a grain of credibility.

So sit on your leather sofas, eat your Cheetos, sip your beer, watch your big-screen TV's, and pretend that you really care about America and the troops and that you're truly patriots. Truth is, you're all hypocritical windbags.

She forgets that her son died supporting the war that she disagrees with. Casey is a hero. Cindy no doubt has been grief stricken. I think it has clouded her judgement by teaming up with the very type of people her son died trying to stop. I feel sorry for her, though I do not think she is doing the right thing.

No, not agreed at all. She's a publicity whore who is being used by some leftist nuts to get their point across.

I realize she's a grieving mother, but when she stampedes over other peoples grief to promote her agenda, she looses ALL credibility with me. Some very dear friends of mine lost their oldest son in Iraq, and they have REPEATEDLY contacted Cindy Sheehag and pleaded with her not to use their sons name in her anti-war efforts. She REFUSES.

I saw her on TV the other day, and I will say that I was surprised at how well she came across. But the Sheehan family has said that they want NO part of her activities and that she speaks ONLY for herself. That says a lot, in my opinion - these were Casey's loved ones, too.

No. She's a pawn of the left wing. Sadly, she doesn't realize that the Liberals are using her as a symbol. Her grief is being taken advantage of and she is thereby encouraged to be even more outrageous. I pity her when she looks back on this time in her life.

Patriot? Yes, I believe so, the rest of these people are nationalists (or extreme patriots, chauvinists, etc.). They believe that you can't love your country unless you submit to every belief that some idiot that runs the country believes. Cindy Sheehan loves her country and therefore wants the people running it to make the right choice. Do you think that a mother would not do the same thing for a child? If so, you need to be checked out, because you've lost it. If your child were having problems and you criticized the problems in question, would you be doing so because you didn't love your child? It's the same way it works for being a patriot, you love your country and you criticize the people running it to make it a better place to live. Give me a break, grow a brain then speak, not the other way around. As far as using her son for attention, seems like it worked for her, you noticed her and her beliefs didn't you? She's not doing this to make a buck, if I was devastated by the loss of my son and used his death as an example of what we could be preventing, I am sure that he would be proud of that. He died because he loved his country, not because of the policies of the idiot that runs it.
