I'm a hippie (neo hippie, whatever) but in England... =/
There are actually quite a lot of hippies/neo hippies in the world, we've not all died out like some people wish. I don't know about organisations in the US/Canada but maybe I could find you some later (I have to get off soon). Email me if you want. =)

if a "neo hippie" is just a modern hippie, then sure, i'm one
i dont think there are any official organizations for hippies,
but there are plenty of organizations where you'd be likely to find other hippies, like groups that focus on environmentalism, peace, social justice, legalization of drugs, eastern philosophy and religion, yoga, vegetarianism, etc.

Not quite sure what you mean by neo-hippies, but I know that Nelson, BC, has a strong hippie population. They throw great parties, like Shambhala.

With luck, we hope to have deported all or most of them to Canada by Feb 8th, 2007. We feel that Canada is more tolerant of their lifestyles and mentality, and that they are not contributing to the wellbeing of the US.

You ask an fairly exciting question. enable me provide you an answer that infant Boomers are going to hate (yet is genuine although). useful, a great form of people protested the conflict in Vietnam. college campuses burned, pupils took to the streets and rioted and so on. yet all of that ended somewhat unexpectedly in 1972. Why? because of the fact the government cancelled the militia draft. Protesters could have carried on and tried to make it look as though they have been completely delivered on by potential of a principled stance against an unjust conflict; yet while this is the case, properly, the conflict replaced into unjust after 1972 additionally; however the protests dried up besides. the actual spark for anti-conflict protests replaced into the draft. the actual reason people protested replaced into because of the fact they needed to stay their lives and do what they needed to do, and that they have been petrified of having shot at. yet of direction, you are able to no longer come best out and say that, because of the fact it makes you look the two egocentric and a wimp. so which you will desire to gown it up in a great form of extreme-sounding rhetoric -- this is strictly what they did. the U. S. has been in touch in diverse different militia strikes after Vietnam, yet as you factor out, they have not particularly generated the generic protests. and of direction they not at all will. Oh particularly, you will consistently have some people available who will protest something; yet generic, prepared protests? forget approximately it. no longer till they carry back the draft and particularly make people pay a value for being a citizen.
