My b.f and I have been together for over a year and he tells me last night that he loves me and wants to be with me but he can not be intimate with me becasue is is just not physically attracted to me. Would you be able to be intimate with the one you loved even if their body wasn;t perfect?

First off, I think you should leave him. Being intimate is a part of being together eventually, and if he doesn't love you enough to oversee any physical imperfections you may have in his opinion, eventually other imperfections will bother him enough that he distances himself even more.
For myself, attractants beyond physical beauty mean a great deal, for they will last when looks fade. I would hope that whomever I am with will overlook my physical, emotional, and psychological imperfections as I over look hers. I was intimate with my ex-wife because I really did love her for what she'd convinced me she was despite that she wasn't the best looking woman I knew. I didn't stop when she gained weight, because I knew I had my own issues even if they weren't exclusively aesthetic.

It does help some what. You have never seen a ugly person with a drop dead good looking person. Its all in the heart, of how you want that person to look.
They could be good looking and have a personality of a snail, or just be plain ugly acting.

Forget him.. there are plenty of good guys out there that will not only be attracted to you, just as you are, but will seek you out BECAUSE of the way you look. I am a big girl and my boy friend found ME because I look this way! NEVER, NEVER change because someone else wants you to.
