Some that are labeled as "early response" can, but they are more accurate the longer you wait. They work by testing your urine for a specific hormone. Even if you are pregnant, the levels in your urine may not be high enough for it to detect. If you take a look at the labels and the information packaged in with the test, it will tell you how accurate they are at various times during your cycle. Best to wait until after you've missed your period for a truly accurate test.

I used First Response and it came back positive. I was only 2 weeks pregnant. After I had my son my Dr. said he thought my due date was off by a couple weeks. If that was true then the test came back positive and I was only 1 or 2 DAYS pregnant.

P.S. I tested either the day before or the day that my period was due...I don't remember which one now.

I did a pregnancy test {first response, it says it can detect pregnancy as soon as 5 days before you miss your period} the day I missed my period and it showed negative result... although I was pregnant already, which I found out two days later.

the early response test can detect the pregnancy hormone a few days before you even miss your period

Going on personal experience......yes it can
Read the directions on the box. If it come out neg. and you still haven't gotten your period w/in another week, go to a doctor or planned parenthood. They can do a repeat preg. test (urine) and you can request one (blood) which is much more accurate

A blood test could definitely. A urine test may or may not. They're generally sensitive enough to catch it by then but not before.
