Well if your ex has no problems with you dating him then I don't see why you couldn't unless you think it would be too much conflict since you and your ex are broken up. Only you know how you feel about this, if you want to ask your ex if has a problem with you dating his friend and if he says it is ok then go for it and see what happens, if not then it might be better if you found someone else.

What will be the repercussions?
Will the 2 boys talk about what you did or do together?
Are the boys close friends and will one be jealous of the other?
You should ask the new guy if the old guy knows hes asking you out and is it ok with both. If it is and won`t cause a problem then go for it. If the new guy says I don`t care what the old guy thinks then there will be trouble and it`s not worth pursuing. I say this because if they truly are friends he would have asked his friend already if he didn`t mind him dating you.. Why he didn`t ask would be because he already knows the answer would be no or afraid the answer will be no.
