most women want children at some point in the future. that's purely an instinctual thing (for most women, not all.) you can know that and not have the rest of your life planned. a smart woman will only have children when she has gotten her life in order.

Father's are traditionally expected to care for the child and the rest of the family as well. that's the way its always been even way back anthropologically speaking. its not about expecting somebody else to support your desires its about that other person owning up to the fact that its their child too and wanting to give that child the best life they can.

I am curious why you only mention "women" in this question. It takes two to create a baby. The babies father would not be supporting the woman's desires. He would be supporting the baby, whom he should not have fathered if he "did not have his life planned". No woman can get pregnant without the sperm of a man. What happened to the man's responsibility?
