i have a space heater in the middle room of my apartment, which is the only source of heat in the winter, what way should my fan in that room be going to disperse the heat through the house, also which was should the fans in the other rooms go as well??

I would have the ceiling fans on the winter setting and the floor fan directed towards the heater blowing in the direction of the room you will use the most.

Since you are trying to get warm air into the unheated rooms, and the fans will probably be on the floor, the fans should blow towards the heater. This will work best if the fans are in the doorways, or close enough to push air through.
